The Victoria and Albert Museum has collected a unique selection of objects which reflect both the solemn ritual of court life and the sympathy for natural materials which is the hallmark of Korean craftsmen. The earliest Korean artefacts in the V&A are from the Silla, producers of sombre unglazed vessels with pierced pedestals. Outstanding treasures from Koryo times and the succeeding Choson dynasty are also presented. Examples of contemporary crafts by artists exploring Korean traditions are also featured.
