On the night of 25th/26th September 1916 several Zeppelins crossed the English East coast and set off to bomb targets in Yorkshire and the Midlands. One Zeppelin - L14 attacked York and Then headed for Leeds. She had started off from the German Imperial Naval Airship station at Hage, Ostfriesland (on the north-west German coast).
