One typed letter, signed, from Pete Pearson, dated March 19, 1968, regarding a rebuilt DH-4 Mail plane which had crashed in 1920 and had just recently been rebuilt. The plane was flown from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. and was turned over to the National Air Museum. Pete (E. J.) Pearson (dates of service 4.6.20 - 6.30.27) is writing about the plane and Air Mail Pioneers reunions (he includes a list of active Midwestern members). The two page letter is written on Air Mail Pioneers stationery. Included is a first day cover from this flight, signed by the pilot Bill Hackbarth, a newspaper clipping describing the 18-day flight and a color snapshot of the DH-4.
