Very scarce, privately printed, library catalogue of the Scottish industrialist Charles Tennant (1823-1906). The library consists of authors and subjects common to the period: Cruikshank, Cervantes, Dibdin, Dickens, Charles Lever, Scotland & the Scots, Shakespeare, etc. This set has been interleaved with lined paper though no notations have been made. There are marginal notations, which may be shelf locations, made in pencil to about 10% of the entries. Presentation copy, inscribed and signed and dated July, 1898, by Tennant on a preliminary page though the recipient's name has been completely and thoroughly scribbled out with ink. With the bookplate of Dr. Eugene S. Flamm, neurosurgeon, bibliophile and former president of the Grolier Club in each volume.
