Book detailing the events of the 1877 reunion, including what was said, read and sung by various members of the Pennypacker family. Laid in is the (4) page invitation to the reunion with the holograph invitation noted as to Matthias P Showalter. Signed and dated on the front endpaper, Clara J. Hench, July 1915. Clara Hench has made marginal notations on pages 4 and 5 regarding her relationship to various attendees who are listed as being in the chorus: Matthias P Showalter (father), Barbara Showalter (aunt) and several second cousins. Illustrated. The inside back cover has three newspaper clippings from 1927 marking the 50th anniversary of the biggest train wreck in Chester Co., Pennsylvania's history, involving the extended Pennypacker family returning from this reunion. Several of the train crew were killed as were five Pennypackers with 55 family members badly injured. A bit of scuffing to the leather, near fine.
