Pat Crowe, Aviator. Skylark Views and Letters from France, Including the Story of "Jacqueline."

New York: Nicholas L. Brown, 1919,

First Edition. octavo, blue cloth with partial dust jacket. (226)pp. Nicholas L. Brown, Item #31799

Pat Crowe enlisted in the U.S. Air Service early in 1917, attended various training schools, went to France and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant at Tours in July, 1918. He fell to his death from his plane over Issoudun on September 29, 1918. His story "Jacqueline" was called one of the best pieces of writing that came from the American Expeditionary Forces. Some of these letters present duplications and contradictions. This copy retains the front panel of the jacket and the blank flaps, which are detached but present. We have never seen a copy with any portion of the jacket.
