Illustrated with photographs. Map of Spain on endpapers. Dust jacket design by Clayton Knight. Tinker was born in Kaplan, Louisiana in 1909. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1933. During the Spanish Civil War he flew with the Republican side and was officially credited with eight victories. Indent from name and address penciled on title page, though graphite erased. Water stain to back cover, remnants of glue to front and back endpapers but no rubber-stamps in book so does not appear to be ex-library. Back panel of jacket with several tears repaired with tape.
