Salinger's 4 1/2 pp. story, "The Hang of It," starts on p. 332. Also featuring contributions from, among others, Elbert Hubbard, Ellery Queen, O' Henry, Vincent Starrett, Ernest Thayer ("Casey at the Bat."), Rudyard Kipling, and Damon Runyan. The printed mailing container is addressed from 2nd Lt. Charles P. Inman to Pvt Harold H. Inman. Then 1st Lt Charles P. Inman was awarded a Silver Star with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster for gallantry in action while serving with the 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, on 2 February 1945, in Germany. The half-title has been inscribed and signed by the recipient, Harold H. Inman at the "Medical Detachment Station Hospital, Camp Reynolds, Greenville, Penna." With black and white, and color, illustrations and cartoons. Top one inch of front inner hinge weak, else fine, Mailing box scuffed but without tears.
