Frontispiece and 15 pages of illustrations. Carroll Dana Winslow was from New York City. He joined the French Aviation on 23 October 1915 and began his flying instruction on 25 October 1915, receiving his brevet on the Maurice Farman on 13 March 1916. He was assigned to the reconnaissance Escadrille M.F. 44 and flew with it from 3 May to 13 July 1916. After a sick leave to the United States he was assigned to Escadrille N. 112 from 10 March to 30 April 1917. He was with the squadron for six weeks after which he received a release for the purpose of joining the U.S. Air Service. Light shelf scuffing, spine faded, slight wear to silver color on cover. A clean copy.
