Colby College Monograph No. 16. Printed by the Anthoensen Press. Illustrated with tipped-in color frontispiece and 23 black and white plates. Presentation copy inscribed at the end of the Preface "for F. Elizabeth Libbey / Carl J. Weber / Colby College / April 9, 1949." Also inscribed to "Elizabeth" on the front endpaper by Jim Humphrey of Colby College Press. Elizabeth Libbey was a 1929 graduate of Colby College who went on to become a librarian at the school. An unusually fine copy of this book with only minor dust soiling to jacket and a few short, closed tears. Book fine and clean.
