Illustrated with line drawings and black and white photographs. The story of the Felixstowe Air Station from March, 1917, to the end of the war. Hallam, a Canadian, learned how to fly at the Curtiss school in Hammondsport, NY in 1914 and then joined the first Canadian contingent as a private in a machine gun battery. In England he became a sub-lieutenant in the RNVR serving with an armoured car detachment to the RNAS. Sailed for Dardanelles, and returned to England in 1915 returned to the Hendon Air Station as acting Flight Lieutenant. Posted to Felixstowe and became Commanding Officer of the War Flight in 1917. In April 1918 took duty ashore [Noffsinger 1284]. A fine copy with darkening to spine, some wear to cloth, some wear to lettering on cover. Front free end paper missing. Name and date on half title.
