A photo of Adams as frontispiece. With a preface by Arthur Stanwood Pier. Letters also printed in the Harvard Alumni Bulletin after Adams' death. Adams graduated from Harvard in April 1917. Served with the American Ambulance Service in France during July 1916. Enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in August 1917. Training at Long Branch, Ontario, Canada, Universoty of Toronto until Septemebr 1917. Attached to Squadron 85 at Camp Borden Ontario, where he remained during October. Sent to RFC Hicks Wing, School of Aerial Gunnery at Forth Worth, Texas through November. To England in December, 1917 and in training through February 1918 in Scotland at Turnbury, Ayrshire. Attached to No. 18 Squadron, RFC 1 March 1918 on duty in France. Probably flying a D.H. 9. Killed at the front 14 March 1918. With No. 18 Squadron for only two weeks but his observations on flight training valuable [Noffsinger 11]. Slight mend to spine - very nicely done. Book fine.
