In command of the 91 Squadron, Count Francesco Baracca died on 19 June 1918, shot down in the midst of a ground attack mission. The prancing horse painted upon Baracca's aircraft was the inspiration for the Ferrari logo. Two laid-in Editoriale Aeronautica book price lists. A fine copy with shelf wear and a few small chips to dust jacket, aging to page edges.
