A badge given to donors to the fund for building the Graf Zeppelin in woven silk with a gilt frame. Eckener was the head of the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin in the inter-war years, and was commander of the famous Graf Zeppelin. He was responsible for the construction of some of the most successful airships in history when he joined the Zeppelin Company on a full-time basis. His aptitude at flying was noticed early on in his career, and he became an airship captain and became responsible for training most of Germany's airship pilots both during and after World War I. Badge in very fine condition.
